On the website, I used images and music that represented Wislawa Szymborska and her poetry, as well as bright and interesting colors as well as mellow and subtle colors to represent Szymborska's uniqueness. When looking for images, I looked for something that applied to Szymborska's life, poetry, or both. While I was looking for the home title picture, and again when looking for the picture to attach to Szymborska's "The Beginning And The End", I was looking for something that was happening or was there when Szymborska was there. The collage of multiple parts of Szymborska's life was meant to embody her joy in writing and that even though she had been through a lot in life, she could still be happy. When looking for music, I tried to make connections to Szymborska and her effect on others. The two different ways to represent Szymborska's "Nothing Twice" was meant to be both visually active and different and also to make you hear the differences between the two interpretations; the allegro and adagio, grave and grazioso, legato and staccato, forte and pianissimo. The last two songs were written due to the inspiration of Szymborska after she won the Nobel Prize, and is written to show all of the feeling in her poetry and life. The colors used on the website are meant to be bright and creative, yet also subtle, like Szymborska. The main and paragraph titles colors are meant to be bold and interesting, like Szymborska was with her poetry. The paragraph text color is meant to match and compliment the backgroung color; which Szymborska could also be, an example being her working behind the Polish United Workers' Party. The visual displays used on the website embody Szymborska's life, personality, and poetry.
